I was still awake late last night and into the morning. Before going to bed, I checked Twitter and saw this Tweet.

I did a doubletake. It sounded like a Kanye tweet, the tone was spot on. If I didn’t know the author, I probably would have accepted it as genuine.

But the author was Octopus Caveman. Legendary Twitter humorist and artist. This was one of his performance art satire pieces. I knew it was joke, but the world didn’t.

Octopus Caveman later announced in a sub-tweet that the post was satire and not from Kanye West. For millions of others on Twitter who were unwilling to scroll down a little bit it looked genuine.

Didn’t matter. The Tweet went viral.

Kim Kardashian’s diarrhea filled news feeds. In the dive bars of the world that day, there were debates about how much diarrhea was normal.

Octopus Caveman duplicated Kanye’s tone perfectly.

Kanye West decided it necessary to make a statement about the image on Instagram.

This is really Kanye’s Instagram post. I’m not going to bother linking it, he probably deleted it already.

The Streisand Effect is when trying to stop something from being seen causes it to be seen more than if you ignored it.

Kanye West having Kim Kardashian’s diarrhea in his mouth caused it to be all over the place.
