People are keeping their cars for longer than ever before. The automotive experts blame high prices, chip shortages, record high interest rates and better made cars. They’re deflecting from the sorry, stunningly ugly options manufacturers offer that nobody is excited about.

We keep our old cars because new cars are soulless. It’s never made less of difference which manufacturer and model you buy. For an average of $42,000 consumers have a choice of 8 slightly different looking SUVs that all use a 2 liter turbocharged engine paired a CV transmission driving the front wheels.

Gen Z isn’t buying the new Hyundai either. The 5-year-old used VW from Carmax can’t hold a candle to the excitement of buying a classic money pit from Facebook Marketplace. On YouTube car influencers show off their classic rides modded to the point they’re almost unrecognizable.

As a result, prices of used 90’s sports cars are up. Some of the cars going for stupid amounts of money are worth it. This is a list of cars I’ve driven or been a passenger in enough to say it ain’t worth that much.
