Cartoons television series are either a satirical look at life or made for kids. Sometimes both. One trend in all cartoons is negligent parents.

It’s every kids fantasy to have rich parents that let their kids do whatever they want. But the reality is their favorite cartoon characters would have life long emotional scars, if they ever aged.

7. Rugrats — All

Neglect is a common theme throughout the cartoon world and those poor Rugrat kids are a prime example.

Can you blame Grandpa? He wants to help but suffers from narcolepsy. The kids are left unsupervised and get into all kinds of trouble while the adults hang out in the next room.

Sure, it taught the kids teambuilding and problem-solving skills. But to lose them all in a forest full of circus monkeys for an entire movie is unforgivable.

6. Hey Arnold — Helga’s parents

Helga’s obsession with Arnold makes more sense when you see her homelife. Child Protective Services might not take her away, but her neglect could be the most damaging.
