Why Discovering NSA Spyware in my PC Was Surprisingly Comforting
I’m not crazy, I’m an enemy of the state
I figured out that I’ll never figure it out. I’m up against the most capable nation state sponsored hacker group ever assembled on their home turf. They know how bad I want to solve it to expose them. I always seem to one step away from a solution but I’m no closer to removing it now than I was 10 years ago.
The spyware only tries to fuck with my reality if I dig into it. It’s excellent at keeping people like me with a big mouth, counterculture values, an audience, and charisma busy eternally fucking with our computers.
It chose me because of predictive crime profiling and they’re right. I’m exactly the guy who’s going to be a problem when you send a bunch of Proud Boys into my town with ICE badges to terrorize the brown people. Haven’t had a chance to write about that. Too busy talking about my stupid computer bullshit.
I know what you’re thinking, “Oh great, another crazy person talking about spyware, the government, targeted individuals, who can’t prove anything,” but hear me out.
Targeted individuals don’t start out as crazy. Realizing you’re a target is what breaks most people.
